How to Add a New Connection - VolBook

VolBook is a volumetric analysis platform that can support multiple connections simultaneously with different Brokers and different Data Feeds. 

Note Bene: Only Data Feeds, Market Depth, Level 2, must be associated with VolBook.

You can manage Connections from the item "Select a Connection", in the menu bar of VolBook

    The Feed section, allows you to select from the available integrations you want to work with and connect using your accounts.

    Data Provider Connections, are integrations with third-party providers that provide various data, such as market quotes, symbol history, and the ability to place market orders.


    Data Feed Settings:

    The Data Feed Settings Window allows you to choose the available integrations you want to work with and connect using your accounts. When you connect to an integration, the manager saves your login credentials and uses them for future automatic connections (or to reconnect in case of errors). 

    • Click on "Add Connection", to add a new connection
    • Fill out the connection form:
      • Name: choose a name to give to your connection
      • Data Source: choose your vendor's data source
      • Credentials: Add username and password
      • Connect on startup: check this item if you want to automatically connect the platform to the data stream at startup.
    • Click on "Save", to save the new connection
    • Remember to properly associate symbols from Options - Symbol Management
  • Data Feed Settings Window Structure:

    The Settings Window Data Flow is divided into two columns: 

    • Connection List 
    • Connection Information: shows the details of the active connection or the access form if the current connection is not active. 
  • Connection Access Form:

    The access form changes according to the requirements of the integration, depending on the Data Feed or Broker you want to connect. It usually includes the fields: 

    • User name and password 
    • "Save Settings" button, which starts the saving and authentication process. 
  • Some integrations have configuration options.
