Big Trades

VolSys Big Trades indicator allows the user to view with a given marker the aggregated orders on the chart, allowing the user to identify where the largest buy and sell orders have entered.

Settings-of-Use

Clicking on the indicator's settings icon will open its configuration window, within which you can make several choices regarding the indicator's functionality.

  • Days-to-Load

Defines the days for which you want to load the indicator, being a fairly computationally heavy indicator it is recommended to load only the days strictly necessary;

1. Volume

Represents the total volume traded at each price level. This database is useful for understanding the intensity of trading and identifying the price levels where most of the market activity


2. Order

Consider order data, such as the quantity of buy and sell orders at each price level. This option is useful for evaluating order pressure and analyzing the behavior of market participants.

4. Aggregate Trades

Show aggregate trade volume by combining trades made on the price level. This option provides a more accurate view of trading activity levels by grouping trades executed on the same price level.

  • Filter Min 

Allows you to apply a minimum filter to the indicator;


  • Max Filter

Allows a maximum filter to be applied to the indicator, if a value of 0 is left, the indicator will not affix any maximum filter.

Applying a maximum filter is useful if you would insert multiple Big Trades markers within the same chart, so you can differentiate the marker  depending on the size you insert.


  • Display Settings


  • Dev. standard

Defines the standard deviation value you want to apply to define the size of the marker provided by the indicator;

  • Minimum Opacity

Defines the minimum opacity value, as the indicator applies a background to the marker more or less opaque depending on the size of the Big Trades itself;


  • Ask / Bid Color 
    Defines the color to be applied to Big Trades executed in Ask and those executed in Bid; 

  • Marker

Defines the type of marker to be applied, being able to choose from: Circle, Square, Diamond and Text;


  • Hollow fill

When applied it removes the background of the marker;



  • Settings-Marker


Defines the minimum and maximum size of the marker provided by the marker;



  • Text-Setting


Defines the size and color of the marker Text;



  • Settings Warnings


Defines the ability to enable sound notifications, differentiating between Bid and Ask,  subject to adding such notifications within VolSys, see article on Adv. Time and Sales for further clarification.






Two different indicators of Big Trades have been applied in the image. Both as a database use Aggregate Trades, the first has as a minimum value 200 and as a maximum value 499, it has as a marker the circle in cyan for aggregates in ask and magenta for aggregates in bid; the second has as its minimum value 500, as its marker the Text, blue color for aggregates in ask and purple for aggregates in Bid
