Use Settings

To open a new chart click on the New of VolSys and select Chart, choose the tool to be loaded, from the various symbols subscribed to and press on Sselect at the bottom right, at which point a new 5-minute chart will open by default.

Price Settings

Clicking on the two candles icon in the upper left you can access the price settings.

  • General

  • Days-to-Load

Defines the number of days to load into the chart;

  • Parameter-type

With the ability to choose in addition to the classic Seconds, Minutes, Days, Weekly, Monthly graphs also other types of graphs such as:

  • Vol bars

Needing two parameters, Target and Reverse, the first parameter defines the Target in terms of the minimum tick that the bar must reach, once this minimum target is reached, the second parameter defines the Reverse in terms of ticks that the bar must make to create a new one.

For example a Vol Bars 55/34 implies that at least 55 ticks must be hiked from high to low, once that value is reached if from the high or low there is a retracement of 34 ticks a new bar will be created.

  • Range

Defines the'range in terms of ticks of each individual bar. For example, if a 10 Range chart is set, each new bar will be created whenever the price moves from high to low by more than 10 ticks;

  • Volume

                                 Defines the maximum volume of each bar, reached that volume will create a new bar;

  • Trades

Defines the maximum number of trades of each bar, reached that value will createà a new bar;

  • Renko

Similar to Range charts, defined a certain parameter in terms of ticks, say 10, a new bar will be created whenever the price moves 10 ticks from the body of the previous candle;

  • Point figure

As Vol Bars need two parameters, Target and Reverse, the former defines the box size and the latter the reversal amount. When from the high or low of the candle there is a retracement equal to parameter 2 a new candle is formedà.

  • Delta

Defines the delta, in absolute value, of each bar, once this value is reached a new bar will be createdà a new bar.

  • Param 1

Defines the benchmark for time-based charts, Range, Volume, Trade, Renko, Delta, as well as the first parameter in Vol bars and Point figure charts;

  • Param 2

Defines the second parameter in Vol bars and Point figure graphs;

  • Based-on-minutes-data

Defines the type of data on which the construction of the graph is based. By default, the data source will be at tick, offering maximum accuracy in terms of traded orders, thus being able to define tick by tick whether a contract is executed in Bid or Ask, thus enabling delta calculation. It is recommended to enable the minute database when a very large data history has to be loaded, for longer period analysis;

  • Contract-synthetic

In the Futures it is possible to view the synthetic contract, which is that contract that combines the various maturities to which the futures themselves are subject, allowing the user to perform more long-term analysis;

  • None

No rollover is performed;

  • Date

The rollover is based on the time expiration of each individual contract;

  • Volume

The rollover is based on volume, that is, the moment more volume is recorded in the next contract than in the expiring contract, the rollover;

  • Adjusted date

Makes the rollover based on time expiration and makes an adjustment to the historical price series based on the contango or backwardation between the expiring contract and the new contract.

  • Adjusted volume

Makes the rollover based on volume and makes an adjustment to the historical price series based on the contango or backwardation between the expiring contract and the new contract.

  • Exclude auction (tick data)

If enabled you exclude data arising at the opening and closing auctions. Useful option in stock markets to prevent volumes traded in those phases from offsetting volumes traded in continuous trading;

  • Filter erroneous ticks

  • Type-trade

  • Extended market hours

  • Bids/Ask type

  • Volume/Delta

  • Width-based-on-volume

If enabled the size of the candles will vary depending on the volume exchanged in each of them;

  • Color-based-on-delta

If enabled, the color of the candles will vary according to the delta of each of them;

  • % maximum width-based-on-volume

Defines the % maximum width of candles based on volume.

  • <>

    Line-Price

Allows you to enable the price line, define its color, style, and thickness, as well as extend that line to the left of the chart;

  • Countdown

Allows you to enable the countdown of each candle, defining how long until the end of the current candle;

  • % Var.

Allows you to enable % variation from the closing price of the previous session;

  • Line-session-start

Allows you to enable a vertical line separating different sessions, define their color, style and thickness;

  • <>

    Custom Time-(Market Time Zone)

Allows you to customize the session's start and end time, which is useful for highlighting in futures actionary session-only cash. The platform takes into account the market time zone, so to highlight the cash session in the futures quoted on the CME (Chicago Mercatile Exchange), you have to enter 09:30-16:00.

  • Colors-Graphic

Clicking in the Series item at the top you can change the color of the candle border and fill.

Change the chart style, choosing from Line, Candlestick, OHLC, Hidden, Candelbody charts.

Change the border thickness.

Indicators

  • <>

    Insert-a-new-indicator

To insert a new indicator click on the'histograms icon in the upper left corner.

A drop-down menu will open where the indicators already added to the chart will be shown, with the ability to delete, obscure or edit them.

Clicking on the indicators  button at the bottom will take you to the list of indicators. At this point to add an indicator to the chart you just need to click on the + button to the right of each indicator, as seen in the figure.

  • Indicator Toolbar

To facilitate the usability of the platform for new and less experienced users, each chart è has a Toolbar in the lower left corner, in which some volumetric indicators are already preset and can be enabled in a very simple way, in particular:

1. OF. VP: Order Flow a Volume Profile;

2. OF.B/A: Order Flow split Bid/Ask;

3. D.VP: Daily Volume Profile;

4. D.DP: Daily Delta Profile;

5. W.VP: Weekly Volume Profile;

6. W.DP: Weekly Delta Profile;

7. C.VP: Composite Volume Profile.

If you don't need it, you can close the Indicator Toolbar, with the appropriate button to its left.

Navigation-on-graph

  • X-axis

To move the X-axis, simply make a scroll with the cogwheel of the mouse, alternatively click with the left button of the mouse on the timeline.

Right-clicking the mouse will instead open a drop-down menu where you will be able to enable or disable:

  • Scroll auto.

If enabled, the price will advance automatically as the bars advance;

  • Block-margin-graphics

If enabled, it allows you to keep a fixed space between the last bar and the right side of the chart, soì that if there are indicators the price will not overlap them;

  • Y-axis

By right-clicking mouse in the price scale you can determine how to move the Y-axis, specifically:

  • Mode-autor-recognition

If you position yourself in the middle part of the Y-axis, pressing with the left button of the mouse you will be able to move the axis, while if you position yourself at the extremes, up or down, you will be able to resize its size;

  • Move-axis

Pressing with the left button of the mouse anywhere on the Y-axis will be possible to move it up or down;

  • Resize axis

Pressing with the left button of the mouse anywhere on the Y-axis will be possible to resize its size;

You will also be able to lock the Y-axis or use a fixed margin.

Annotations

Pressing with the right button of the mouse inside the chart will open a menuù in which you will be able to choose the type of pointer, enter annotations, enable trading, change the properties of the chart.

Specifically:

  • Pointer

Activate the arrow, i.e., the default;

  • Scope

Enable the crossair;
